Offset stacking is used where you would like more of the blades to stack on one side. The bottom track for your accordion shutter will be based on where the track will mount and what permanent obstacles would the accordion need to clear in order to open and close. As an example, for your average window you will use a one inch top and bottom wall track to mount the accordion shutter.

A one inch wall track means the top and bottom track will stick out from the wall one additional inch of clearance and the accordion shutter will be able to clear a sill up to one inch. For a two inch wall track, these are

made to mount to the wall and give a two inch clearance. For example, if you have a two inch sill on your window, you will be able to clear up to two inches. For doors and porch areas, a walkover should be used to mount on the floor since most doors do not have wall space underneath the door. A walkover will allow you to mount the bottom of the shutter to the floor.
